Eye Care Tips WinterThe most important organ of the human body is eyes and the most beautiful gift that God has given us is vision. Eyes enable human beings to see everything that is happening, growing and living in this world.

Keeping in minds the importance of eyes, many people do not take care of their eyes. Like all other organs of the body, eyes also need special care and proper attention especially in winter season because the winter season might make the atmosphere a little wet but it is a dry season. Due to the dryness of winter season, the eyes also get dried up. So, here some eye care tips that people should do in winter season:

Wear Sunglasses

In the chilling cold of winter, one cannot possibly resist the warmth of sun on a beach or seaside. The only way to protect your eyes from the ultraviolet rays from the sun is to wear sunglasses. Sun glasses provide approximately 99% protection from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Furthermore, sunglasses prove to be very effective if ground is covered in snow. In this way, one can avoid sunburned eyes and also prevents the development of dry eyes and temporary damaged vision.

Dress Properly

Another way to protect your eyes is to either wear a hat. The shade of a hat will protect your eyes from sun rays. If you don’t want to wear hat, then wear a jacket or a hoodie. Although it won’t protect your skin or eyes from the chilly winds or sun rays but it will definitely protect the tear film in your eye from evaporating.

Increase Moisture

People bring indoor heaters to their homes because the winter weather also brings freezing temperature. Apart from keeping the house warm and cozy, these heaters can also cause irritation and dryness in your eyes. To avoid this, you can either use eye drops to keep your eyes moist or a humidifier during the winter months.

Proper Sport Goggles

If you love winter sports like getting outside to ski, snowboard or snowmobile, then wear goggles to protect your eyes from the chilly cold weather of winter season. The winter season can create higher risk of temporary vision problem if you don’t wear sport goggles. The goggles should have polycarbonate lenses so that it protects your eyes if you accidentally hit a slope.
