Anushka Shetty rose to fame following her performance in Vikramarkudu before foraying into Tamil cinema. She received high critical acclaim for her portrayal of the titular character in Arundhati and Vedam. After starring in the Tamil blockbuster Singam, she became one of South India’s most leading actresses. Her latest release is the Tamil film Lingaa opposite Rajinikanth, released in December 2014.
It is hard to believe that the cute lil’ kid of Koi Mil Gaya is a sex symbol now, in south India. Hansika began her acting career with television first: with a serial called Shaka Laka Boom Boom. She made her film debut as a leading actress in the Telugu movie Desamuduru, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut- South. Shruti Haasan is multi-talented. She is a south-Indian actress, singer and music composer. She made her adult acting debut in the 2009 action drama, Luck. She later went on to win critical acclaim for her role in the Walt Disney fantasy film, Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh My Friend and 7aam Arivu. In 2012, she starred in Gabbar Singh, Telugu remake of Dabangg which also was her first hit as an actress.Yevadu, Race Gurram, Poojai were her successful 2014 releases.
The talented actress of the south, Shriya Saran has a magnetic personality that comes across on the screen. Saran made her film debut in 2001 with the Telugu film Ishtam, and had her first commercial success with Santhosham. In 2007, Saran starred in Sivaji: The Boss. She also gained critical acclaim for her role in the 2007 Bollywood film Awarapan. Her films, Chandra and Manam were box office successes of 2014.
Nayanthara made her acting debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare and followed with the successful Vismayathumbathu before foraying into Tamil and Telugu cinema. Kajal Agarwal made her debut in the 2004 Bollywood flick Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na after which she made a foray into the Telugu film industry through the film Lakshmi Kalyanam. She had her first commercial success with Chandamama and rose to prominence after her performance in Magadheera.
