Wearing a shimmering silver Roberto Cavalli gown, Aishwarya, 41, who won the crown in 1994, was joined on stage by her husband actor Abhishek Bachchan, mother Vrinda Rai and daughter Aaradhya as she received the honour from Miss World organiser Julia Morley last night.
“I stand here overwhelmed by this honour. I thank Miss World Organisation for such an incredible honour that I have received. To have the opportunity to hold the title, to wear the crown with pride… that was my one time to go out there and experience beauty with a purpose,” Aishwarya said after accepting the honour.
