Dia Mirza is a super model and top actress of Indian Fashion and Film Industry. Her tempting eyes, engaging looks and budding talent made her way through the corridor of modeling to the juncture of Bollywood Films. This brilliant actress can speak Telugu, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, and English with proficiency with interests of reading, writing, painting, pottery, horse riding and theater. She has written several articles for The Hindustan Times and various other publications as a guest writer and also worked as a member of the board of the Coca Cola foundation that works towards development in rural India. She came up the second runner-up in Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant, 2000, Sony Viewer’s Choice Award, and Miss Beautiful Smile. She also won the title of Femina Miss Asia-Pacific in Manila on December, 2000 where she was the 2nd Indian who won this title after the gap of 29 years. Thus far she has proved her excellence in more than forty films as a remarkable actress and glamorous heroine. Now she is running her own production house “Born Free Entertainment” launched on February 10, 2011.
Dia Mirza was born in December 9, 1981 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. She attended Vidyaranya High School for Boys and Girls in Hyderabad and later Nasr School, in Kushnuma. She postponed her Graduatioin due to excessive work and just before her debut film she took one week crash course on acting at New York University. She made her debut on the big screen with ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ in 2001. At the age of 16, after completing her 10th standard, she got a job as a marketing executive in a multi-media firm called Dr. Neeraj’s Multimedia studio in Hyderabad. This job lined her way to modeling assignments with Walls, Lipton, Emami amongst others. Then she made her debut on the big screen with ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ in 2001 and worked in more than forty movies till 2011.
She also worked for community services like Cancer Patient Aid Association, Spastics Society of India, with Government of Andhra Pradesh to spread HIV awareness, prevention of female foeticide, PETA, CRY and NDTV Greenathon.
