It was the exotic flavour and colours of the African continent as well as the beauty of blue and white porcelain that came alive on the ramp at the India Resort Fashion Week 2012, when the students of the Rachna Sansad School of Fashion and Textile Design presented their stylish creations to open Day Three.
The delicate charm of the “Tea Pot Collection” with the blue and white accents had a trendy grunge look with stripes and large florals being a constant for the creations.
Opening the show the 14 designers of the two collections played with the floral, white and blue stripe design for sheaths with lace insets, sleeveless minis with keyhole neckline, asymmetric hem dresses with cutaway armholes, cowl skirts, layers of flounces, lots of baggy jumpsuits, harem pants and long lean maxis in cotton and silk. The empire line contrast bodice gowns and the final fancy one with the blue giant 3D flowers and fringed skirt was a great end to the Tea Pot collection.
The inspirations for the “Neo Metric Collection” were varied, ranging from the culture to the streets of colourful Africa, as prints played a throbbing beat with geometrics and animal patterns which were mixed
seamlessly on the sensational creations.
Colours made a great impact as neons with hints of lime, magenta; orange with mosaic African print gave the summer street wear that exuberant peppy style as the models in the perky garments sashayed down the runway. Jersey minis, cropped rompers, one-shoulder jumpsuits and playsuits in yellow with colour blocking of prints with solids for floppy bell sleeves created the right look. Yellow skinny pants, suddenly gave way to magenta baggy ones, while a hipster bell bottom version was interesting.
Mini skirts with the rich print of the Dark Continent were teamed with plunge neck jackets, while detailing was restricted to the neck, back, waist and sleeves as cut-outs added eye appealing touches.
Keeping in mind the requirements of the globetrotting jet setting modern fashionistas, the silhouettes spelt ease and comfort on all fronts. Great styling concepts had that international touch so perfect for quick dressing up or down for any formal or casual party.
Once again the students of Rachna Sansad School of Fashion and Textile Design scored a perfect ten with their eye-catching resort wear line.
