For its fifth edition — from July 15-20, 2014 — the country’s most respected couture and bridal showcase has been renamed in honour of its new sponsors with a new logo to match. The venue, however, will be the same as last year — The Taj Palace Hotel, Delhi.
“We are proud to associate with Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers whose exclusive designer jewellery collection will be seen on the ICW runway; and Logix Group who will be coming up with a mall [Logix City Center Mall in Noida] which will have a dedicated space for the fashion designers,” said Sunil Sethi, president of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). The FDCI is a non-profit association of fashion designers who put together India Couture Week and India Fashion Week, both in Delhi.
Much like a music festival, a fashion week’s designer line-up is the key to success. India Couture Week 2014 scores high with the majority of its roster returning to the Couture Week ramp at the very top of their game: Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi, Gaurav Gupta, Manish Arora, Monisha Jaising and Varun Bahl. Rohit Bal makes the switch over from India Bridal Week, a competing event that follows Couture Week, where last year he presented the one of the best shows of both weeks combined.
