Kiara advani is no different than any other social media-loving 22-year-old—hooked on Twitter and Instagram because she’s a self-proclaimed fashion and travel addict who loves to share her life through pictures (selfies, in particular).

Oh, and she also happens to be the hottest young debutante in town, coming off a memorable acting debut in 2014’s indie flick Fugly. “I love all the attention on Twitter and Instagram. I’m awestruck by the young girls who keep tracking what I wear and praise my dancing skills.
It’s an overwhelming and humbling feeling since I still have a long way to go”. Kiara warns us though: “If you guys are friends with a ‘Kiara Advani’ on Facebook, then it’s an imposter and not me. I’m not on Facebook.” Uh-oh. Admitting that she Googles herself “quite frequently” to find out what people are saying about her, Kiara also confesses there’s a fair amount of pressure and peer competition with multiple debuts happening in Bollywood every year: “I would be lying if I said there’s no pressure. But I’m a Bollywood addict and I’m literally tripping on the kind of films Parineeti, Alia and Sonakshi do. They have come such a long way!”And when it comes to her own career Kiara is more than confident about the path she wants to take.
She knew she wanted to be an actor from the time she staged song and dance shows with her cousins at family functions, and aped love-struck dialogues in front of her bathroom mirror. “My debut, Fugly, was not only an extremely educational experience on-set but it was also a very demanding and emotionally exhausting role because of the trials my character faces… So now I’m focusing on waiting for something light-hearted—preferably in the romantic comedy space—to come my way.

I think I’ve managed to prove my acting chops and I now nurse this burning desire to work in an absolute song-and-dance, all-out, chick-flick date movie. I’m reading a lot of scripts and thoroughly taking my time to pick the one film that will make me re-live my childhood days of obsessing over Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and the like.” On the professional circuit she looks up to Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla and Deepika Padukone:
“They have such strong personas and are true-blue divas—everything about them mesmerises me!” But she has no plans of becoming another Bollywood clone: “I aspire to grow into my own self. There is certainly a ‘Kiara’ mold that God made me from, and I think I’m far too young to know every facet of my personality.”

Originally named Alia Advani, she graduated from two acting academies—Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares and Roshan Taneja’s School of Acting, and was christened Kiara by her mentor, Salman Khan. She explains, “Simply put, we did it to avoid confusion!
Everyone loved the name Kiara and I felt it suited me. So I became Kiara Advani, practically overnight!” And her relationship with Khan has been as strong as ever. “He is a wonderful human being, and inspite of being one of the busiest superstars he always makes time for me,” she smiles.Harbouring secret crushes on Hrithik Roshan “since Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” and Varun Dhawan who is “extremely charming and witty,” Kiara keeps us guessing on who she’s dating right now.

But it’s probably safe to say it’s someone from the industry, as she very cleverly hinted.Like us, if you’re wondering what gets Kiara interested in a guy, she keeps it simple. “Just be real and normal, not weird and cheesy when you’re asking a girl out.
A guy who is confident but not overconfident is attractive.” Got it. Eat fried rice with chopsticks—yes; motorcycle stunts—no.Better yet, here’s the cheat code to taking Kiara out on the perfect date (with Valentine’s Day around the corner and all): “I’m a travel bug. Fly with me to an exotic location or even going on a long drive/road trip with amazing music makes it my kinda date.” And the exotic destination in question is probably Hawaii.

“My dream destination is Hawaii. I’m a water baby and it has the most tranquil and breathtaking islands,” she says with a fittingly dreamy expression. And if the airfare is a little out of your annual dating budget, just be a good listener: “I have a great sense of humour. I can keep myself entertained most of the time—as well as those around me!”
