Ranveer SinghRanveer Singh is 1985 born, and right from the start there has been a very strong dersire to become an actor of reptute. Even while pursuing his Bachelor of Arts degree, Ranveer Singh was concerned about acting as a career and the moment he stepped out of university he began to seek prime starring roles in the Hindi film industry.

Early Life

During his school days Ranveer Singh actively participated in the school plays and debates. After he joined junior college in Mumbai, Ranveer Singh understood that getting an opportunity in the movie industry was not at all easy, as major chances went to people with a floating background. Realizing this Ranveer Singh concentrated on his other thirst, that of artistic writing.

After finishing his studies in US he returned to Mumbai in 2007, and started to work in advertising as a copywriter. Since the passion for acting was very much in his system he kept referring his portfolio to directors. As if this was not enough he did not hesitate to visit filmmaker’s offices, presenting his photographs and requesting to work.

Debut

After three years, lastly in January 2010, Ranveer Singh was called for a tryout for Yash Raj Films. They told him that it was for a main starring role in their project titled ‘Band Baaja Baaraat. Ranveer Singh went to Yash Raj for his trial, and was asked to do two acts. Aditya Chopra, the Vice Chief of YRF, later saw the trial tapes on video and was enthralled by Ranveer Singh’s performance and accepted him as the right man for the part of Bittoo Sharma, the leadman of the film. After the two weeks of trials, Ranveer Singh was set for the starring role of Bittoo Sharma, with Anushka Sharma in the performance of the lady lead.

Success and Breakthrough

Band Baaja Baaraat turned out to be a serious and moneymaking success. Ranveer Singh’s representation of Bittoo won a lot of praise from the critics and the fans. And the film earned huge returns in financial terms.

And as luck would have it Ranveer Singh secured the award for Best Male Debut at the 56th Filmfare Awards.

The first big success brought fourth other roles, the significant one being Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. There are many movies in productions and the fans will be getting a chance to see him more and more on the screen and enjoy his performances.

The upcoming movies are Lootera, Ram Leela, Gunday and Kill Dil.
