Shruti Haasan is an Indian singer, actress and music composer who has appeared in a few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. As a child artist, she used to sing in the movies and came along in a guest role, before making her adult acting debut in the 2009 action drama, Luck. She later went on to win critical acclaim for her role in the Walt Disney fantasy film, Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh MyFriend and 7aam Arivu.
In 2012, D-day actress Haasan starred in Gabbar Singh, Telugu remake of Dabangg which also was her first hit film as an actress. Now she will be seen in upcoming movie Rocky Handsome. Shruti Haasan was born on 28th January, 1986 in Chennai, India. Her father superstar Kamal Hassan is an Iyengar and mother Sarika is a half-Maharastrian and half-Rajput. Being a daughter of renowned actors, she holds a great interest in music and cinema.
She has a younger sister Akshara, an Indian film actor, screenwriter, assistant director who works primarily in Bollywood and Tamil film industry. Shruti has also persisted her stint in music, a career in music direction beginning with her father’s production Unnaipol Oruvan and her own music band and album. Young actress Shruti studied at Abacus in Chennai and moved to Mumbai to study psychology at St.Andrew’s College.
She changed her focus to cinema and music, and finally travelled to the USA to continue learning music at the Musicians Institute in California, before returning to Chennai. She also had rhinoplasty to alter the appearance of her nose early in her film career. Shruti was in talks with Milan Luthria for his next project, Baadshaho. But she has decided to walk out of the project. A source close to the film claims that during the few initial meetings with the director, Shruti seemed happy about her role and had agreed to do the film.
But when she saw the final script to sign the dotted line, she felt her character was not good enough and did not do anything for the story of the movie. Rocky Handsome is an upcoming action-thriller film directed by Nishikant Kamat. It stars John Abraham and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. It is a loose adaptation of the 2010 Korean film The Man from Nowhere.
Its story revolves around a man who sets out to take vengeance against drug mafia after they take away an eight-year-old girl, with whom he shares a special bond. Welcome Back is an Indian comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. It is a sequel to the 2007 film Welcome, featured an ensemble cast that includes Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and Paresh Rawal reprised their roles from the prequel. John Abraham and Shruti Haasan were new additions to the cast. Haasan started her career as a singer and later turned to acting. She made her singing debut at the age of 6.
Later while pursuing her studies in school, Haasan made her singing debut in the Hindi language film, Chachi 420, with her father Kamal Haasan, who also directed the film. Her second song came in Hey Ram, where she sang the bilingual versions of the title theme, Rama Rama with her father, in Hindi and in Tamil. Her debut in Bollywood came with a film titled Luck where she was paired opposite Imran Khan and which was a Soham Shah film. She has also done a voice over for a HIV/AIDS teaching animated software tutorial that has been created by TeachAIDS. Haasan has played the role of Devaki in the latest released flick Gabbar Is Back where Akshay Kumar was seen as Aditya/Gabbar.
Shruti has sung a song picturised on herself in the movie. Shruti Hassan is very much single and is not dating anyone. Shruti said, “Yes, I wish to marry, but I don’t know when. The person I get married has to be kind, which is difficult you find the ones who smell good, talk well, look nice and the ones who win their awards, but at the end of the day, it boils down to someone who can make you laugh and is kind.

He could be a doctor or anything else, but needs to be talented at whatever he does.” According to the latest buzz, Shruti Haasan is in talks for film Singham 3 opposite Suriya. Talks are already said to be on with the actress who is busy shuttling between Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad for her current projects.
Shruti’s role is said to be quite meaty in this film. Singham 3 is said to release in 2016. Devi Sri Prasad is likely to score the music for this film as well and Priyan will handle cinematography. The movie will be produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment which produced Singham 2.
