The film has surpassed Salman’s Kick and Shah Rukh’s Chennai Express to become the third highest grosser. Despite the brouhaha over the theme, the film is able to attract the crowd to the theatres. And, with the way the film is minting money at the box office, it might soon cross Krrish 3 record to attain the second position in the highest grosser list.

The film is racing towards reaching the Rs.300 crore mark as it managed to rake in Rs.21 crore on a Sunday itself. With the holiday season on, the film is expected to attract all the more audiences. “Yes, I definitely think the numbers are as per expectations and we are looking at the movie which is going to do 300 cr. So, I think its performance is at par at what the expectations were and I think it might succeed the expectations also as we still have 1st January too as a Holiday. So with the number of holidays the movie is going to break all records,”

Tarun Tandon, M.D, Indra Films, Nizam and Andhra, told Koimoi.com. “The conditions obviously are as expected or rather more awfully expected. The movie has sustained fabulously through the week. And the way the film has sustained, 99.9% we are looking at PK as the biggest grosser ever,” Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi added. Featuring Aamir as an alien, the film takes a hard hitting swipe at organised religion, god and godmen. It also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt.
