Steering clear from his regular masala films, Ajay Devgn yet again got into the shoes of a serious actor for this thriller. The Nishikant Kamat film opened at Rs 8 crore, but the film is slowly picking up at the box office via positive word of mouth.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office collection. Within two days of its release, the film has already minted Rs 17.45 crore. Made on a small budget, Drishyam is a Hindi remake of a popular Malayalam film of the same name. Ajay has stepped into the shoes of Mohanlal for this Hindi remake.

The film has received a mixed response from the critics but keeping in view the first two days collection, it seems the business will pick up at the box office on Sunday. On the other hand, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is unstoppable at the cash registers. With each passing day, the film is steadily inching towards the Rs 300-crore club. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is unaffected by the release of the new films and its box office collection proves it. Adarsh has called it an “all time blockbuster.” Touted to be Salman’s best film till date, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is on its way to create new records.
