The audiences completely overreacted to my performance in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya‘. I’d give myself three on ten for my acting in the film,” said Salman in a 1990 interview with Filmfare.

Salman on acting

For me acting comes straight from the heart. In that sense, I don’t act at all. I think that to feel the character’s pain I have to be myself. Somewhere audiences see that,” said Salman Khan.

Salman on choosing films

When I hear the script, I just want to be entertained. I just want twists and turns so that the audience should have some kind of entertainment – be it in romance, action, drama or any kind of entertainment. When the audience comes out of the theatres, they must say ‘Wow, what a film’,” quipped Salman.

I have enjoyed all the seasons of ‘Bigg Boss‘ so far. I will not leave it and will keep on doing it,” says Salman.

I really felt at home while writing; it was spoken straight from the heart — the way I feel about men, romance. I wanted to do a film on men, father-son relationships and romance, which is why it had to be a period film. There’s no romance now, we don’t have the relationships people had back then; I took it back to the 1800s as it was a time when men were men, they would die for their word,” said Salman.

Charitable Salman

2010 also saw the revival of Salman Khan’s charitable organization – Being Human Foundation.

“Everybody does charity, but not everybody likes to talk about it. Some may do it for personal benefits, to stay in the limelight or others might do it genuinely. According to me, you may do charity for any reason, but do it anyways. No matter what the intention is,” Salman told reporters at a Being Human event.

Cupid strikes Salman quite often

Salman has previously dated Aishwarya Rai, Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali and Katrina Kaif.

I’m a very committed person. If it (a personal or official relationship) breaks, it’s always the other person who breaks it and not me. I don’t interfere that much because it matters a lot to me,” says Salman.

After parting ways, Aishwarya cited abuse as the reason for her break-up with Salman Khan.

Says Aishwarya, “I stood by him enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in its worst phases and, in turn, I was at the receiving end of his abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and indignity. That is why like any other self-respecting woman I put an end to my relationship.”
