Indo-French brand Lecoanet Hemant today launched GENES  Lecoanet Hemant, a collection of  trendy everyday wear that celebrates India’s incredible journey into the 21st century. Coming from the exclusive Parisian Haute Couture world, this is the first time for Lecoanet Hemant’s creations to become broadly accessible to the scions of ‘New India’.

Aptly named ‘Here and Now’ for Fall/Winter 2015, the first collection is inspired by the country’s contemporary accomplishments, technological revolution and development of society.  The unveiling of GENES – Lecoanet Hemant saw guests including Mohini Boparai Guleria, Sonya Jehan and Vivek Narain, Rashi and Gautam Bhimani, Gautam Sinha, Emmanuel Balayer, Liza Verma, Naveena Jafa attend.

In keeping with the brand’s design legacy, the event was hosted over an intimate high-tea, and a showing of ‘Here and Now’ at the avant-garde Lecoanet Hemant atelier in Gurgaon.

Outfits from GENES – Lecoanet Hemant have been divided into 3 main categories: Menswear, Women’s-wear, and Accessories.  These categories are further focused to address various lifestyle needs viz, Play, Work and Leisure to present a comprehensive collection every season. The line offers an urban take on daily dressing, ranging from fashionable basics to contemporary classics.

Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar have been incubating this ambitious project since 2012 backed with extensive research and development. ‘Here and Now’ experiments with technical fabrics and innovative combinations that span exquiste textures, naturally supple fabrics and graphic-oriented prints, engineered at their Gurgaon atelier. ‘GENES – Lecoanet Hemant’ seamlessly blends craftsmanship and design with high technology to provide an unparalleled fit and make for urban India.

Patterns are drafted to international standards and the styles are industrially produced in their state of the art workshop, to offer consumers affordable luxury in the range of Rs 2,500 to Rs 25,000. In keeping with the winter season, the colour palette of ‘Here and Now’ includes neutral shades with pops of colour; orange and black are the prominent hues in the men’s collection, while indigo, black, light blue, white, and orange dominate the women’s line.
