That wasn’t all we had our very own version of rapid fire round with her. Was she rapid and full of fire? Well, read on to find out in an exclusive tete-a-tete with Kangana Ranaut…
You garnered a lot of praises for your performance in Queen and now you are all set to break a mould again with Revolver Rani. We have seen the trailer of the film and your character Alka Singh loves Fashion, fun and gun. So tell us does Kangana too love these three in real life?
(Laughs) No, not gun. But I love fashion. I even did a movie on it. However for few people it is a priority, but for me it’s not. Fun, yes I do. But it really depends on what is the definition of fun. And yes, I am not into guns. But I know some people who collect guns and knives.
Revolver Rani looks very crazy and wacky…
Yes, it is. It’s Sai Kabir’s (director of Revolver Rani) take on the modern society. And it’s a rather quirky take. He chose the backdrop of politics, so it makes the film even more crazy. And he chose a neurotic protagonist, which is crazier. And since I am playing a politician in the film, I don’t need to tell you how wicked and bad this person is. Alka Singh is a politician and that says it all.
Recently, Tigmanshu Dhulia said that Revolver Rani is a B-grade film, do you agree?
He said that it’s a B-grade entertainer and well, that’s the visual design of the film. It’s like one of those movies that are sold right outside the railway stations. So yeah.
If Kangana was to direct a B-grade entertainer what would you title it as? And who would you like as the lead actors?
It really depends on what will be my concept. I think black comedy is very good for a B-grade entertainer. But politics won’t be my backdrop. Maybe Bollywood. That would make for an interesting backdrop. And maybe I’ll cast myself in the film.
Vir Das is playing your toy boy in Revolver Rani. If not Vir Das who from Bollywood do you think will make an ideal toy boy?
I think Vir is the perfect choice. When you will see the film, you will know why. He has played a toy boy with a lot of conviction. (Laughs) Since Revolver Rani shows you as this girl who’s crazy about Phashion, Fun and Gun, we have a few rapid fire questions for you. And also since you were not on Koffee with Karan this season, we have our own version of the infamous rapid fire round (Laughs) Sure. Bring it on.
If you were given a choice to shoot three people out of your life, who would they be?
Oh my God. This is some heavy stuff. But frankly I really do not hate anyone. But if I were to shoot people out of my life, I wouldn’t do it with a gun. Rather I’ll use sarcasm. And it’s really effective weapon.
At gun point if you were forced to confess a secret of yours, what would it be?
(Thinks for precisely 23 seconds and says) I really don’t know how to answer that But you are at a gunpoint now. You will have to answer See my secrets are really dark. I can’t reveal them like that. I might as well get shot.
Who is the most fashionable actor in Bollywood today?
I think Sonam Kapoor.
The tag line of Revolver Rani is ‘Ab mard ko bhi dard hoga‘. Name that one man from Bollywood jisey dard nahi hota?
I think most men are a bit sensitive. So har mard ko dard hota hai.
One person you will never watch Revolver Rani with?
Revolver Rani is a really good film. So I wouldn’t mind watching it with anyone. And if you are hinting at the sexual content, then it’s not the main part of the film. So I’ll be pretty much okay watching it with anyone.
Three things that are common between Alka Singh and Kangana Ranaut?
We both are girls. We both have curly hair. And we both have a toyboy. I have three toyboys while Alka has only one. (Laughs
